I like to think that photography should be all about the image you are trying to capture - and not about the photographer behind the camera lens. However, as you've come to this page I'll share a bit about me and my work.
I'm based in Stockton-on-Tees on Teesside in the North East of England. I'm originally from Scotland but have been living 'up North' for many years now - settling here with my wife, two kids and two dogs. I've always been interested in art and creativity having studied Art History at University. At one time I had a sideline selling reproduction paintings and working as a pavement artist in Edinburgh and I've continued to develop my interest in painting and drawing since then.
The chance to be creative and work as a photographer is a privilege and is something that still excites me every time I pick up my camera. As a photographer, my style is bold and vibrant and I aim to create distinctive painterly images. I've always been particularly interested in portraiture and the challenge of capturing a unique moment in someone's time life. I work as a portrait, event and wedding photographer primarily but continue to work on a number of creative photography projects too.
People I have worked have described me as down to earth and easy to get on with. From years of photographing people I feel I can bring out the 'best side' in anyone - whether you love to be in front of the camera or are a little more reserved.
The role of a photographer during a wedding or other event is so important. It would be great to hear about the plans for your special day so please get in touch.
