Middlesbrough Wedding Photographer
Wedding Photography for Middlesbrough
As a Middlesbrough Wedding Photographer and someone who lives locally I know the Teesside area well and have worked at many of the local hotels and wedding venues. There are many places to choose from which would make an ideal backdrop for your wedding photography - from traditional country houses, modern banqueting halls through to rustic wedding barns and farmhouse settings.
Wedding Photography Style
My approach to wedding photography is primarily based on taking spontaneous, candid images. I have found this way the photography is the best way to tell the full story of your special day from start to finish. It avoids a situation which makes you as a couple or your guests feel awkward or 'on the spot'. In my opinion and experience, the best wedding photography is unposed and natural. That said, I do mix in some set piece group shots and couple portraits which are a great record of the day and the people attending. These photos can be a lot of fun too and do not have to conform to the standard 'stand in a straight line' images that were so common in the past.
Wedding Photography Prices
I like to discuss every couples wedding plans individually. This is because everyone is different and I like to understand exactly what the Bride and Groom have planned and their ideal approach to their wedding photography. I have a number of standard wedding photography packages and optional extras which include albums, prints and frames. These packages include full day coverage from the bride getting ready, the bride's arrival, the ceremony itself, the wedding reception, wedding breakfast, cutting of the cake and first dance. My standard wedding package includes 9 hours of coverage but this can be flexed if required to provide more or less coverage. Wedding Photography Ideas
As well as covering your wedding with some of the typical shots from the day I love to work with couples to on creative ideas for a photograph. This can be based on how the couple met, their interests or something unique about the venue or setting. It's a great way to create something unique and special which means a lot to the couple. Some of this could be done using different lighting techniques such as flash lighting or LED lights. In addition, I also have a drone and regularly bring this to weddings to capture some fantastic venue shots as well as group shots from above. These images are another idea to show your wedding day off in a different way to tell a story of the day. I can also provide other services pre-wedding shoots for couples in and around the Middlesbrough area. This is a great way to get to know the photographer and feel more relaxed for the big day. It's also a nice way to get a beautiful photograph to put in a signing frame for the wedding reception.

Middlesbrough Wedding Venues
I have covered many weddings for couples at churches and venues throughout Middlesbrough. There are many options available to couples and I don't recommend any individual venues. However, I would highlight some of the following venues to give you an idea of the choice available locally:
Acklam Hall - a 17th century hall which caters for weddings and events. Recently refurbished the Grade I listed building is now a vibrant and contemporary venue which is the ideal setting for a wedding. I covered an interesting Acklam Hall wedding for a couple there recently.
Jury's Inn - a modern hotel with space for large functions in Middlesbrough town centre.
The Grand Astoria Venue - a recently refurbished wedding venue which can accommodate large wedding parties. Situated on Wilson Street in the centre of Middlesbrough.
Sporting Lodge Inn
The Sporting Lodge Inn located near Middlesbrough, in the North East of England, sells itself as an informal and relaxed wedding venue in which to host your civil ceremony (if desired) and reception. With 140 bedrooms to choose from and a maximum of 100 wedding guests, you are guaranteed an intimate environment. The Maltby Suite itself also boasts a private bar, patio, and gardens. As a cherry on top of the cake, Sporting Lodge Inn invites you to celebrate your one-year anniversary at the hotel and provides a complimentary meal in the Old Poste House.
Located on the outskirts of Middlesbrough near the market town of Stokesley. The Treebridge is an old farmhouse which has been converted into a hotel and restaurant. Beautiful views of the nearby Roseberry Topping are a bonus.
You can also travel a little further to a wide range of wedding venues - whether it be a country house or traditional coaching inn - across the whole of Teesside.
