Raeanne & Michael's Acklam Hall Wedding
Raeanne & Michael’s Acklam Hall Wedding
Acklam Hall is a beautiful 17th century Grade 1 listed mansion near Middlesbrough. Now operating as a wedding and meeting venue, bar and restaurant Acklam Hall is an ideal location for a stylish, contemporary North Yorkshire wedding. I’ve worked at Acklam many times before and it was a pleasure to cover the wedding of Raeanne and Michael there on the 29th September.
A Fantastic Wedding Venue & a Great Day
This was a full day wedding with the bride getting ready in the sumptuous Queen’s quite whilst the groom waited patiently in the bar with his best man and groomsmen. The ceremony room at Acklam is the main Drawing Room at the front of the building. This grand room features beautiful plasterwork ceilings which date back hundreds of years alongside stunning fireplaces and panelling. Before being used as a wedding venue Acklam was a 6th form college and a before that a school. It’s very common for guests to tell me that they used to be at school here and remember running through the corridors as a youngster. The Drawing Room was previously used as the library for the school but has been transformed since. The Headmaster’s study was on the ground floor and is now a small function room The decor is both traditional and contemporary which works really well. The weather for the day was good despite threatening to rain a number of times. The front of the hall at Acklam is the ideal backdrop and setting for group shots and formal portraits of the couple. To end off the whole day I took a shot of the groom and the bridal party celebrating with a bottle of champagne - a great photo and a great way to end a fantastic day.
Thanks to Raeanne and Michael for inviting me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure and I would like to wish you all the very best for your future together as Mr & Mrs B! I’d also like to thank Colin Anderson for assisting me on the day itself.
