Yesterday was the North East Ladies Day 35th Anniversary Luncheon. This charity event continues to grow and attracted over 500 attendees for lunch at Hardwick Hall near Sedgefield. This years event was raising money for Butterfly Giving (Teenage Cancer Charity) and Family Help Darlington CIO (Domestic Abuse Charity). Both charities were represented by speakers who shared some insights into the work there. The guest speaker for the event was the iconic Toyah Wilcox who spoke of her life as a performer. Toyah also performed her famous track "It's a Mystery". This was a full fashion show laid on featuring a wide range of outfits provided by DC Couture of Yarm. The show covered both male and female fashions with amateur and experienced models - including Miss Teesside 2016 and Miss Durham 2017. As well as the luncheon, the guests had the chance to browse the many stalls around the edge of the marquee. A particular favourite was the stall next to mine who was selling Gin. I have to say I weakened a bought a bottle of Rhubarb Gin and delicious it is too! I saw some familiar faces at the event (including my wife and her friends) as well as Kelly from Time Organics Candles and Sharon Murray from The Shape Clinic who I met only last weekend on a training course. I also bumped into fellow photographer and events manager at Acklam Hall, Carla Whittingham. who was covering some of the the event. It was great to see everyone and it's fair to say the North East and Teesside is a close knit community and these events really bring that out. It was my first time at NELD as an exhibitor and I was impressed set up and venue at Hardwick Hall. It was great to see everyone these yesterday and I hope you like the photos.
